Singapore’s success in economic development has been associated with the country’s efforts to embrace the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) revolution to promote growth. The Singaporean government is actively supporting the development of the ICT sector and it has set goals to strengthen the industry through a 10-year ICT master plan known as Infocomm Media 2025. This plan identifies key technology areas that present opportunities for growth in Singapore: big data and analytics, Internet of Things, cyber security, and advanced robotics.
The e-commerce market in Singapore is expected to grow to approximately €4.6 billion by 2025. Wearable electronics are successful products in Singapore and the market is forecasted to grow strongly.
In Thailand, IT software production has been driven by the financial services sector, with a strong demand for software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions. Cloud services are expected to report strong growth, as well as e-commerce along with increasing levels of internet usage. The three major IT service product categories in the country are systems integration, deployment and support, and outsourcing.
EU Gateway | Business Avenues organises an EU-funded business mission in Information & Communication Technologies to Singapore & Thailand from 25-30 June 2018. Up to 50 European companies will have the opportunity to showcase their products and technologies to an audience of potential business partners at NXTAsia, part of ConnecTechAsia. They will also benefit from pre-arranged business meetings with potential customers or partners, advice on IPR issues and on doing business in Singapore & Thailand.
