On Thursday, October 24th, DIATEAM was in Lannion for the first edition of Hack’In Trégor Day, an event powered by Technopôle Anticipa & Lannion Trégor Communauté within the framework of Campus Bretagne Cyber Alliance.
Hack’In Trégor Day is “a playful and active afternoon, […] made to raise your awareness of information security stakes through funny activities and inspiring testimonies”.
Alexandre Wets & Nicolas Formichella were there to make a demo entitled:
“USB : le port de tous les dangers”
(USB: a port full of danger).
This scenario shows, using DIATEAM Hybrid Cyber Range, a cyber attack launched through a USB stick plugged into a computer in a company, which then allows the attacker to take control of the system.
This extremely common scene (“hey look, a USB stick, let’s see what’s on it!”) may have huge consequences, and this so unimportant and trivial action can get its author into serious trouble.
Alexandre & Nicolas have been able to show the demonstration and answer the questions of 200 people in total.
